Edward Scissorhands Field Trip, Part 1

We heard that Edward Scissorhands was filmed in Lutz, Florida. On Tinsmith Circle, off Carpenter's Run, off rt. 54, off I-75. It was a great day for a drive on a sunday, and we had heard from numerous sources that there were old topiaries and such left over from the movie still around. Unable to confirm or deny this on the web, we went in search of Ed's home.   Unfortunatly, we found nothing. There are no topiaries, all the houses are drab, and in general the subdivision looks the worse for wear, even if it is a "deeded" subdivision. It is a lot more crowded feeling then it appears in the movie, and was kind of a disappointment, all in all. Below are pictures taken on March 18, 2007.

Here is the cul - de -sac that appears to be where you enter the gates to the mansion on the "mountain". There aren't  many mountains around here.

This was actually the most "colorful" house in the development. Not a big improvement on the movie!

These Sand Hill Cranes were actually the most unusual things we found around here, they were crossing the road, blocking our exit off carpenter's run. Almost as if they didn't want us to leave! Scary!
